Its characteristic feature is its proximity to the sea-in fact, it enjoys a great record in all of Europe: Mount Petrella, the highest peak of the Aurunci Mountains, at 1540 m. asl, close to the Gulf of Gaeta, is the highest and closest mountain to the sea in Europe.<br\/>The Cammino includes a 115-km walking route and a 150-km. mountain bike route, and can be covered 5 stages, with a 4-stage variant.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The quaint medieval village of Minturno is the starting point of the walk and the final destination is the Angevin Aragonese Castle in Gaeta, by the sea. The Aurunci Mountains are the way, crossing the trails of the Riviera di Ulisse Park and the Monti Aurunci Nature Park. <\/p>\n\n<p>Views of the gulf range from Vesuvius to Ischia to the Pontine Islands and the Circeo promontory.  <\/p>\n\n<p id=\"scopriletappe\">The CAMMINO DEGLI AURUNCI, both the walking and Mtb versions, is a challenging route.
