It is a journey into culture and history through an area dotted with ancient villages and imposing castles, immersed in a varied landscape that alternates forests and pastures with vegetable gardens and vineyards. <\/p>\n\n<p>The trail is mainly on the valley floor and mid-altitude slopes with an altitude of 350 to 1900 meters above sea level, thus practicable for most of the year.<\/p>\n\n<p id=\"scopriletappe\">The Camino is divided into <strong>23 STAGES<\/strong> of about 4-6 hours each that can also be walked in several stages or, if necessary, interrupted using public transportation. Each STAGE is an invitation to discovery, moving on foot along paths but also on dirt roads and paved sections, through villages and sites of cultural and natural interest. Vi raccontiamo dei vigneti valdostani che si possono incontrare lungo il Cammino Balteo!<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading -->\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>La viticoltura eroica<\/strong> lungo il Cammino Balteo<\/h2>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><strong>I <\/strong><strong><em>vigneron<\/em><\/strong><strong> valdostani: gli ultimi viticoltori-eroi in un territorio ostico ma capace di offrire prodotti inconfondibili ed unici al mondo.<\/strong><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Noi ne siamo rimasti affascinati quando, percorrendo una tratta del <a href=\"https:\/\/camminiditalia.org\/cammini\/cammino-balteo\/\"><strong>Cammino Balteo<\/strong><\/a>, abbiamo avuto modo di scoprire un territorio senza eguali e delle realt\u00e0 che all\u2019interno di questo hanno saputo trarre beneficio da un contesto ai nostri occhi proibitivo.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Per questo, per spiegarvi di cosa si tratta, prender\u00f2 in esempio quello che, ormai da secoli, fanno i viticoltori valdostani in un territorio apparentemente tanto inadatto alle produzioni agricole, con un\u2019altitudine media di 950 metri s.l.m., quanto capace di sorprendere ed offrire prodotti inconfondibili ed unici al mondo.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>In Valle d\u2019Aosta il produttore, che va ben oltre il viticoltore inteso nella maniera pi\u00f9 classica del termine, diventa un vignaiolo vero. O meglio un <em>vigneron<\/em>, che si prende cura della vigna, che in molti casi \u00e8 limitata ad un piccolo fazzoletto di terra. Ne segue i processi dalla barbatella alla bottiglia, dalla terra alla cantina, conferendo il proprio amore per quella terra ed il sudore dato dal duro lavoro che c\u2019\u00e8 dietro ogni singolo acino al vino, al prodotto finale, orgoglio personale ed espressione di un territorio.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>L\u2019espressione \u201cviticoltura eroica\u201d viene cos\u00ec utilizzata per descrivere l'attivit\u00e0 di coltivazione della vite in terreni estremamente difficili e ripidi, spesso su pendii molto scoscesi o terrazzati. I vignaioli valdostani si trovano ad affrontare sfide uniche a causa del terreno montuoso e delle pendenze importanti in cui coltivano le viti. Queste condizioni rendono l'accesso ai vigneti difficile e richiedono un'attenzione costante per evitare danni alle viti e garantire la qualit\u00e0 del raccolto.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/camminiditalia.org\/vini-valle-daosta\/\"><strong>I vigneti della Valle d'Aosta<\/strong><\/a> sono generalmente a conduzione familiare e di piccole dimensioni. Le vigne sono spesso terrazzate, ovvero suddivise in piccoli ripiani, detti appunto terrazze, a causa dell'inclinazione del terreno e con lo scopo di garantire la sicurezza dei vigneti. Questo permette ai vignaioli di coltivare le viti in modo pi\u00f9 agevole e di prevenire l'erosione del suolo. Le ripide pendenze delle pareti collinari e montuose richiedono una gestione del territorio che protegga dalla costante erosione causata dalle acque piovane, evitando frane e smottamenti.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>I terrazzamenti sono cos\u00ec diventati negli anni un elemento fondamentale per consentire la coltivazione, utilizzando la tecnica di costruzione dei muretti a secco. I materiali utilizzati per questi muretti sono le rocce presenti in abbondanza nella zona, che si integrano armoniosamente nel paesaggio, creando un legame indissolubile con l'identit\u00e0 del luogo.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Sebbene i terrazzamenti siano indispensabili per la viticoltura, la gestione dei vigneti non diventa per questo pi\u00f9 semplice. Queste variet\u00e0 sono adattate alle condizioni specifiche del territorio e contribuiscono a creare vini unici e di alta qualit\u00e0. Alcuni vitigni autoctoni per me degni di nota sono: Fumin, Vien de Nus, Cornalin, Petit Rouge e Pri\u00e9 Blanc.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Mi soffermerei proprio su quest\u2019ultimo per una dovuta parentesi: il Pri\u00e9 Blanc \u00e8 l\u2019unico vitigno autoctono valdostano a bacca bianca ed \u00e8 ancora oggi franco di piede, cio\u00e8 con la pianta di vite che cresce senza essere innestata su portinnesti, cosa ormai piuttosto rara. Articolandosi risalendo le parti iniziali delle principali valli laterali, il percorso \u00e8 anche definito La Bassa Via della Valle d\u2019Aosta, proprio in virt\u00f9 del suo andamento a medio-bassa quota, tra localit\u00e0 di fondovalle a partire dai 500 metri s.l.m., fino ai 1900 metri s.l.m. toccati su versanti di media quota, differenziandosi cos\u00ec dalle Alte Vie.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Ed \u00e8 proprio qui che si sviluppa l\u2019attivit\u00e0 vitivinicola valdostana, lungo<strong> il fondovalle che da Pont-Saint-Martin e Donnas<\/strong> sale, diramandosi per circa 90 km e superando addirittura i 1.200 metri di altitudine di Morgex, nella zona viticola Morgex-La Salle, ai piedi del massiccio del Monte Bianco, dove \u00e8 possibile trovare i vigneti pi\u00f9 alti in Europa.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>La Dora Baltea svolge anche un ruolo fondamentale nella viticoltura della regione, contribuendo a <strong>creare le condizioni perfette per la coltivazione di uve pregiate <\/strong>e la produzione di vini di alta qualit\u00e0, e tracciando i confini di quelle che possono esserne considerate le principali zone vocate alla produzione viticola.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>In corrispondenza dei principali bacini idrografici del fiume, la vallata centrale \u00e8 suddivisa in tre aree distinte: bassa, media ed alta Valle d'Aosta e ogni zona ha <strong>caratteristiche climatiche e geografiche specifiche<\/strong>, che influenzano il modo in cui le uve maturano e i vini si esprimono. Esse differiscono principalmente per altitudine e temperature medie, oltre che frequenza e portata delle precipitazioni durante l\u2019anno.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>In questo contesto geofisico e pedoclimatico unico possiamo individuare delle diverse zone vitivinicole, ognuna con dei propri vitigni di riferimento che danno vita ad <strong>un\u2019ampia variet\u00e0 di vini <\/strong>con caratteristiche distinte e specifiche.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Il lungo lavoro di recupero che l\u2019uomo ha portato avanti nel corso dei secoli ed a stretto contatto con la natura, ha permesso di <strong>selezionare e valorizzare un importante patrimonio di vitigni <\/strong>autoctoni, che rappresentano il 65% della produzione totale della regione.\u00a0<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Questi, affiancati da alcune uve internazionali, hanno portato alla creazione di una ricca variet\u00e0 di vini di montagna di grande livello, tutti raggruppati sotto la Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC) Valle d'Aosta - Vall\u00e9e d'Aoste, suddivisa in diverse sottodenominazioni identificate in piccoli areali.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Esaminiamo ora i principali vini DOC, posizionandoli nelle rispettive aree di produzione che, seguendo un percorso da ovest a est, sono: Morgex-La Salle, Enfer, Torrette, Chambave e Nus, Arnad-Montjovet, Donnas.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:image {\"align\":\"center\",\"id\":26796,\"sizeSlug\":\"full\",\"linkDestination\":\"none\"} -->\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img src=\"https:\/\/camminiditalia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/3.webp\" alt=\"vini valle d'aosta\" class=\"wp-image-26796\"\/><\/figure>\n<!-- \/wp:image -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading -->\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Zona di Morgex-La Salle<\/strong><\/h2>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Vall\u00e9e d\u2019Aoste Blanc de Morgex et de La Salle DOC:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Iniziamo il nostro viaggio nella zona di Morgex-La Salle, dove si produce uno dei vini pi\u00f9 particolari della regione. Il Blanc de Morgex et de La Salle \u00e8 un vino bianco ottenuto dall'uva autoctona Pri\u00e9 Blanc coltivata a un'altitudine che arriva anche oltre i 1200 metri sul livello del mare, ai piedi del massiccio del Monte Bianco, caratteristica che attribuisce al vitigno il primato di raggiungere le massime altitudini in Europa e ha permesso di preservarlo dagli attacchi della fillossera, un insetto parassita che a partire dalla seconda met\u00e0 del 1800 ha sterminato la quasi totalit\u00e0 delle piante di Vitis vinifera (detta anche vite comune o euroasiatica) esistenti. \u00c8 quindi ancora oggi possibile passeggiare trai vigneti in questa zona della regione e poter ammirare alberi di vite a piede franco, cio\u00e8 con la pianta che cresce senza essere innestata su portinnesti. Un\u2019ultima nota: il Pri\u00e9 Blanc \u00e8 l\u2019unico vitigno autoctono valdostano a bacca bianca.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>\u00c8 caratterizzato da buona freschezza e mineralit\u00e0, con note agrumate e floreali, che riflettono il territorio montuoso.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading -->\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Zona di Enfer<\/strong><\/h2>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Vall\u00e9e d\u2019Aoste Nus Malvoisie DOC:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Proseguendo verso est, arriviamo nella zona di Enfer, dove \u00e8 possibile degustare il Vall\u00e9e d'Aoste Nus Malvoisie DOC, un vino bianco secco e complesso prodotto con l'uva di Pinot Gris, nella selezione locale Malvoisie. Offre note di frutta a polpa bianca e una leggera nota di frutta secca e confettura.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Vall\u00e9e d\u2019Aoste Nus Rouge DOC:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Sempre nella zona di Enfer, troviamo il Vall\u00e9e d'Aoste Nus Rouge DOC, un vino rosso secco con piacevoli e calde sensazioni alcoliche ed eleganti tannini. \u00c8 prodotto principalmente con le uve autoctone Vien de Nus e Petit Rouge, con un colore rubino intenso e un bouquet di frutti di bosco maturi.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading -->\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Zona di Torrette<\/strong><\/h2>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Vall\u00e9e d\u2019Aoste Torrette DOC:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Continuando lungo il Cammino Balteo, arriviamo alla zona di Torrette, dove si produce il Vall\u00e9e d'Aoste Torrette DOC, un vino rosso ottenuto da un blend di uve autoctone e non, ma in prevalenza il Petit Rouge. Ha un colore rosso rubino intenso e un profumo di frutti rossi e spezie, con un gusto secco e asciutto, tannico e armonico.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading -->\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Zona di Chambave e Nus<\/strong><\/h2>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Vall\u00e9e d\u2019Aoste Chambave Muscat DOC:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Procedendo verso est, raggiungiamo la zona di Chambave e Nus. Qui si produce il Vall\u00e9e d'Aoste Chambave Muscat DOC, un vino bianco dolce e aromatico ottenuto principalmente dall'uva Moscato Bianco. Il profumo intenso di fiori e frutta e la piacevole dolcezza lo rendono un ottimo compagno per dessert e formaggi a pasta erborinata.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Il Chambave Muscat \u00e8 particolarmente apprezzato nella sua versione Fl\u00e9tri, ottenuta dai migliori grappoli di moscato bianco lasciati ad appassire in ambienti specifici ben ventilati e ombreggiati. La vinificazione avviene solo quando i chicchi pregiati perdono gran parte dell'acqua, concentrando cos\u00ec la loro dolcezza e ricchezza aromatica, dando vita ad un ottimo vino da meditazione, caratterizzato da un profumo intenso di miele e confettura.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading -->\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Zona di Arnad-Montjovet<\/strong><\/h2>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Vall\u00e9e d\u2019Aoste Arnad-Montjovet DOC:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Proseguendo verso est, arriviamo alla zona di Arnad-Montjovet. Qui \u00e8 possibile degustare il Vall\u00e9e d'Aoste Donnas DOC, un vino rosso prodotto principalmente con uve Nebbiolo (Picotendro), che conferiscono al vino una struttura elegante e tannini ben integrati. Ha un colore rosso granato intenso, un bouquet complesso di frutti di bosco, fiori secchi e spezie, e un gusto secco e persistente.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Il Donnas \u00e8 stato il primo vino valdostano ad ottenere la Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC).<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading -->\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Il nostro viaggio \u00e8 finito, ora le dovute conclusioni<\/strong><\/h2>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Abbiamo visto come lungo il Cammino Balteo, si ha la possibilit\u00e0 di incontrare numerose<strong> realt\u00e0 differenti tra loro<\/strong> e lasciarsi condurre dai produttori locali, pronti a condividere la loro passione per la viticoltura e a offrire degustazioni indimenticabili tra le loro vigne e cantine. Tra il 1490 e il 1510, gli edifici furono uniti, trasformando il castello in un unico palazzo a ferro di cavallo che si affaccia su un ampio cortile. From the spa town, where a visit to the <b>Romanesque church of St. Vincent with its archaeological site is<\/b> recommended, continue toward Cillian, where the monumental remains of a <b>Roman-era bridge along the Via delle Gallie<\/b> can be appreciated <b>.<\/b> It proceeds halfway up the hillside among small villages, isolated houses, rocky crags and panoramic views of the valley floor below, in some places very similar to a deep gorge wedged between the rocks. <b>You reach Montjovet<\/b>, passing between the <b>castles of Chenal<\/b> and <b>Saint-Germain<\/b>; a series of small ups and downs lead to the hamlet of Torille, not far from Verr\u00e8s. Its majestic bulk, elegant cross windows, tall tower with clock and curious <i>gargoyles<\/i> will not fail to attract attention. From Verr\u00e8s you pass on to <b>Issogne<\/b>, dominated by the sober elegance of the <b>castle of Giorgio di Challant.<\/b> From Issogne you then reach <b>Arnad<\/b>, land of production of the well-known and renowned <b>PDO lard<\/b>; a village that will amaze you with its timeless atmospheres, its caseforti, the splendid <b>Romanesque parish church dedicated to St. Martin<\/b> and, finally, the refined <b>Valleise Castle<\/b> (currently undergoing restoration, therefore temporarily closed to the public).
