Cammino del Negro
The walking route is about 140 km long and is mainly on dirt roads, mountain trails and some short sections of secondary paved roads.
The Cammino del Negro is laid out in a loop to pass through all the villages of a beautiful valley within the Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park. Generally, the route can be done by anyone with a fair amount of training, as there are no technically difficult sections and no major elevation changes.
We propose that you can shorten or lengthen the stages as you like; you can walk the along either side in 3 to 4 days for the more trained and athletic or walk the whole loop in a week. While the less trained who want to walk it leisurely can plan the walk in 12 days, as are the individual tracks.

HISTORY
The municipalities of the Diano Valley share a rich and pronounced early medieval tradition of the Italo-Medieval matrix. The cult of Ithalogrean saints is attested in our territory by toponyms and various dedications. St. Antero, St. Elias, St. Arsenio, St. Nicholas, St. Michael, and St. Onofrio are just a few of the patron saints of Eastern origin that attest to the presence of a strong Byzantine tradition, along with the ancient Italogrean foundations. The great cultural wealth of the Diano Valley is also represented by the Charterhouse of San Lorenzo in Padula and the historic center of Teggiano, which contribute to the UNESCO World Heritage recognition of the Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park.
