A physically demanding journey that winds through continuous ups and downs, revealing the more autêntica soul of the Marche hinterland. Paths creep past hermitages hidden in wild woods, Franciscan convents on the edge of cities and monasteries laden with centuries-old wisdom. Ancient Romanesque abbeys tell stories of spirituality and land, in a landscape of rolling hills and wild mountains.
Marche shows itself here in its most authentic essence: a region of small villages, far from metropolises, where the inhabitant lives in harmony with the land, cultivating it with respect.

Via Lauretana Rome – Assisi – Loreto

Walk in the Mutated Lands
Length: 250 km
Stages: 14

This itinerary is not just a physical walk, but an act of presence and support for communities that have experienced the trauma of the earthquake and are working to rebuild their future.
The route traverses Apennine landscapes from the Sibillini Mountains to the Gran Sasso and Laga Mountains, touching villages such as Camerino, Ussita, Visso, Norcia, Castelluccio, Arquata del Tronto, Accumoli and Amatrice that still bear visible signs of destruction alongside recovery and resilience projects.
Walking here means meeting people who have chosen to stay, listening to stories of pain and hope, supporting small local economies through widespread hospitality. The difficulty is medium to high, with significant elevation gains that can reach 1,000 meters and stretches at high altitude, but the emotional and human power of this walk makes it a deeply transformative experience.
