Calabria, embraced by two seas and crisscrossed by three imposing mountain ranges-Pollino, Sila and Aspromonte-offers walkers a mosaic of landscapes ranging from crystal-clear coastlines to majestic peaks, from thousand-year-old forests to ancient perched villages.
The presence of three national parks and numerous nature reserves, coupled with a rich cultural and historical heritage ranging from Magna Graecia to the Middle Ages, makes each Cammino a unique experience of discovery and connection with the land.

Cammino San Francesco di Paola

The Cammino San Francesco di Paola is a spiritual and nature trail that winds along the Coastal Chain in the province of Cosenza, offering a walking experience between sea and mountains. The trail follows the footsteps of the Calabrian hermit saint through landscapes of extraordinary beauty, where Mediterranean scrub alternates with majestic oak, chestnut and highland beech forests.

The itinerary, structured in six well-defined STAGES, offers the particularity that it can also be walked partially due to its configuration, which includes two distinct routes: the Via del Giovane and the Via dell’Eremita. Each STAGE ends in characteristic inland Calabrian villages, allowing walkers to immerse themselves in the local culture, at a slow pace.

Sentiero dell’Inglese

The Sentiero dell’Inglese represents a fascinating time travel through Greek-speaking Calabria, following in the footsteps of the Victorian traveler Edward Lear who explored these territories in 1847. This trail offers total immersion in the culture of the Grecanica area of Calabria, where ancient linguistic and cultural traditions still survive today.

The path unfolds through landscapes characterized by majestic centuries-old olive groves and evocative torrents, touching villages where time seems to stand still. The itinerary allows you to discover an authentic and little-known Calabria, where Greek-Calabrian traditions are manifested through music, dances and the warm hospitality of the inhabitants.

Kalabria Coast to Coast

Length: 55.3 km
Stages: 3
Departure: Soverato
Arrival: Pizzo

The Kalabria Coast to Coast is a route that allows you to cross the Region from coast to coast, from the Ionian to the Tyrrhenian Sea, in just three to four days.

This Walk offers a complete experience of the variety of Calabrian landscapes, starting from the white beaches of the Costa degli Aranci to the golden expanses of the Costa degli Dei.

The route traverses the Calabrian Preserre in its shortest stretch, offering a journey through expanses of centuries-old olive trees, vineyards, wheat fields and chestnut and beech forests. The route touches on charming villages such as Petrizzi, San Vito sullo Ionio and Monterosso Calabro, ending in picturesque Pizzo, famous for its Aragonese castle and culinary traditions.

Particularly striking is the passage at the Angitola Lake nature oasis, which is a key STAGE of the route.

A Camino capable of revealing an authentic Calabria, far from the traditional tourist circuits, where every step reveals ancient stories and millenary traditions.
